Tally of the amount of images of:

Men: 377
Women: 118
Ethnic Minorities: 339 white, 109 others
Adverts: 67, mainly about new music and concerts
This is not a fair representation however the target audience is white males so this is what they would be use to so any other ethnicity or gender would be different for them.

The front cover:

The front cover consists of a main image of the Pink Floyd's faces- no body- this highlights how significant the artists are that the target audience would know exactly who they are by just their face and not their whole body. The colour scheme of the rainbow colour gives the magazine and vintage feel which links also to the photo of the Pink Floyd as the photo looks aged which mirrors the rock genre. Furthermore, the rainbow colour also relates to the Pink Floyd icon of the triangle and the rainbow going through it which can connote equality and peace. Underneath the CD track the word "PLUS" is written in big so when the white men target audience take off their CD they will see extra information given to the target audience thus enticing them more to the magazine.
As well as, mainly men are featured on the front cover with only one women featured in the corner smaller than all others thus illustrating that the genre of rock is mainly viewed and preformed by males so by having them main on the front cover the target audience can recognise the magazine straight away.

Are there a range of articles? (Feature articles?) What is the language that has been used?

-The articles are mostly about different artists about there music (Patti Smith,Stevie Chick)
-Theres interviews with artists where there is someone asking questions
-The language is formal to conform to the genre of the magazine(rock) and to please the older target audience.

How does this representation link to the demographic? Think: age, brand loyalty?

The representation in the main front cover is shown to be stereotypical to older white men, however as you begin to read on through the magazine you begin to see a wide range of multiculturalism. This then shows that MOJO magazine shows loyalty to everyone by showing a wide range of multiculturalism through the demographic of the front cover. However in the actual magazine there is very little amounts of the magazine dominated by women which could suggest that the stereotype of white men is still there but not as much as it used to be.

How might audiences interpret the same magazines very differently and how might these differences reflect both social and individual differences?

The audience may interpret the same magazine differently for several reasons, for example the magazine could be specifically aimed to send a certain message  like if you have a boyband on the front cover and its mixed with different ethnicities and races, it shows a good amount of multicultural impact onto the reader and could possibly influence them to act differently towards other ethnicities and races for the better as in todays society there is still lots of racism. So by doing this you are influencing older men today to become more accepting of change and become and individually better person overall.

  1. Nice work here Georgia, I know you worked alongside Lexie - remember when asking about different interpretations it could be the LGBT community, young men or women. You have written a nice response about ethnic minorities.
