-Magazines, like newspapers, are self-regulated. Magazines may join IPSO or Impress – only
-Impress is Leveson-compliant (The Leveson inquiry was a judicial public inquiry into the culture, practices and ethics of the British press following the News International phone hacking scandal, chaired by Lord Justice Leveson).
-MOJO has chosen to join IPSO, as have the other Bauer publications because it gives them a reliable to source to prove to their readers their material follows all laws and isn't biased.

Who are they?

-The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) is the independent regulator for the newspaper and magazine industry in the UK. They hold newspapers and magazines to account for their actions, protect individual rights, uphold high standards of journalism and help to maintain freedom of expression for the press.

What do they do?

-They make sure that member newspapers and magazines follow the Editors' Code.

-They investigate complaints about printed and online material that may breach the Editors’ Code.

-They can make newspapers and magazines publish corrections or adjudications if they breach the Editors’ Code (including on their front page).

-They monitor press standards and require member newspapers and magazines to submit an annual statement about how they follow the Editors’ Code and handle any complaints.

-They can investigate serious standards failings and can fine publishers up to £1 million in cases where they are particularly serious and systemic.

-They operate a 24-hour anti-harassment advice line.

-They provide advice for editors and journalists.

-They provide training and guidance for journalists so they can uphold the highest possible standards.

-They provide a Whistleblowing Hotline for journalists who feel they are being pressured to act in a way that is not in line with the Editors' Code.

-They work with charities, NGOs and other organisations to support and improve press standards.

On their website they include places where complaints, advice and help can be made and placed. Also there is a section which shoes the latest news and another for their social feed.
